Dwesa is the ideal destination for the person who wants to spend a holiday in nature away from the madding crowds.
As part of your activities, you can go with a community guide on nature walks, 4x2 and 4x4 trips (own vehicle) or a boat trip over the Mbashe River to Cwebe and afterwards enjoy a meal or a drink in the Haven Hotel.
A wonderful, clean and desolate beach awaits you if you want to work on a great tan or just take a nap under your umbrella.
Dwesa is bordered on the one side by the Indian Ocean and on the other by the rugged grasslands of the former Transkei. The bird life in this 3,900ha reserve includes rarities such as the Narina Trogan and Mangrove Kingfisher.
Dwesa has also introduced a number of game species: crocodiles have been re-introduced to the rivers, and buffalo, eland and warthog once again roam the grasslands and the forest fringes.
